If you have never heard of microblading or microblading eyebrows, this is because it is a relatively new technique that has now arrived in Rochester.
Defining Facial Features
Eyebrows are immediately noticeable as a defining facial feature. You may therefore spend a disproportionate amount of time each morning filling them in if they’re sparse or removing annoying hairs from bushy eyebrows, while also trying to balance them. Microblading eyebrows makes all this a thing of the past.
Special Microblading Tool
Microblading is a very gentle form of tattooing. Using a special handheld tool for the sort of precision and control that a standard tattoo gun cannot give, microblading gives you the perfect eyebrows that will last for up to three years with no daily maintenance. But if the idea of tattooing fills you with dread, don’t worry. While microblading plants pigment under the skin, like tattooing, it does not go as deep as traditional tattooing and the special tool has been specifically designed for microblading eyebrows.
The whole microblading procedure takes about two hours. During the first, and most important hour, the individual hairs of the eyebrows are drawn in with erasable pencil. The shape, arched or straight for example, is designed to your own wishes under your consultant’s expert guidance.
A numbing cream is then applied to the penciled eyebrows as microblading does hurt a bit. The sensation has been described as “lots of little scratches” or “similar to eyebrow threading”. Of course everyone’s pain threshold varies, but the numbing cream is reapplied throughout the microblading process as necessary.
There is no long term special care programme because no long term special care is needed. However, immediately after the microblading there will inevitably be some redness and slight swelling; aftercare ointments are provided to ease this. Also, for the first week you will need to protect your new eyebrows from getting wet so don’t wash your face with water or undertake sweaty workouts. An antiseptic cream may also be provided just in case.
You will leave our Rochester salon thrilled with the results and good to go for up to three years. There will be a follow-up appointment in 6 to 8 weeks, but after that an annual appointment is all that is required to keep your microblading eyebrows looking as good as the day they were done.
